GENERAL CARE

This easy-to-look-after plant will continue to flourish in a wide range of temperatures. Remove any withered or yellowing leaves that develop.

Potting: Use о soil-based compost. Repot in spring if becoming root-bound. If in maximum size pot, top dressing is advisable.

WATERING

Water thoroughly, then allow it to dry out before watering again. Never stand the plant in excessive water. In summer, water frequently but reduce the amount and frequency in autumn.

Feeding: In summer give it a diluted liquid fertilizer fortnightly. Mist to keep foliage clean and to prevent attack by red spider mites.

CONDITIONS

Light: It needs plenty of bright light and prefers warm sunny positions all year. In summer you can leave yuccas outdoors in a sunny position.

Temperature: Yuccas will thrive at normal room temperatures, but in winter keep them cool, not lower than 10°C (50°F).

Buy healthy plants standing upright in their pots. Beware of plants that wobble or are loose. Leaf rosettes should be we 11-developed. Avoid those with brown or black marks on the leaves, sure signs of damage in transport.

Yuccas will remain lush and green for several years if they are kept in a warm and moist atmosphere.
